Logo design

Ramifications tattoo studio

I was approached by Ramifications Tattoo studio to provide a full Branding and web design package.

Firstly, Ramifications needed a high quality logo.

The logo was to be used on posters, banners and a series of promotional videos and so needed to be done first and foremost. The logo needed to reflect the style of their business and also needed to be personal to Aron, who owns and runs the studio.

After visiting Aron at the studio, we decided upon designing a 3D old pirate themed logo.

My idea was to start with an old wooden back board and build upon it similar to an olde english tavern sign, but with deeper layers for added impact.

Upon the backboard would be a ship’s wheel, skulls, a scroll and a set of tattoo machines to include the relevance to tattooing. The logo would be finished off of course with the business name “Ramifications”.

Aron was happy with the sketch, but this does not reflect the impact of a 3D logo, so step one was to create a ‘clay render’ which simply shows the 3D logo in plain white.

Aron saw the logo in this format and could now see the full impact of how the logo would appear. The go-ahead was given to texture and render the logo.

Along the way, updates were provided which gave Aron the opportunity to see the progress being made and to make changes along the way.

After some tweaks here and there the logo was finally complete and provided in 4k resolution for print and digital promotion.

The logo will also be used on the website and for any other branding and marketing purposes.
