A walk on the wild side: A journey towards website improvement. 1

Nepinsri Travel Ltd are a tour operator who specialise in tours to Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, and Costa
Rica.

I created their original website in 2014 and have maintained and updated it since then.

Having planned the site carefully with Nepinsri, it performed really well and their business grew
thanks to the leads generated by the website.
After six years the website was more than ready for an update, and the global pandemic made this a
priority. Nepinsri knew that a strong online offering was critical in seeing out the rough waters of
2020.

The challenge

A walk on the wild side: A journey towards website improvement. 2

We began to discuss the requirements for the new website. The first item on the list was a modern look, which had to be fast to load and easy to navigate. The content needed to be refreshed with the stunning images Nepinsri have collected in the last few years. Making the site photography shine was an important consideration.
We also needed to consider how the site helped visitors get the information they needed, and give them the confidence to book a trip.
Lastly was the selection of the right platform. One that gives Nepinsri everything they need right now, and for many years into the future.

My solution

I started with a total reset of their design. I wanted something inventive that kept true to the Nepinsri brand. I created a design that has a fresh, modern, look but remains fast to load thanks to the up-to-date development techniques I used.
We chose a newer platform for the website to sit on, which had a great number of positives for both Nepinsri, and me as a developer. It allowed me to generate even better code optimisation for further speed improvements. Meanwhile, Nepinsri got a bespoke admin platform so they could quickly generate content for the site and make edits without any hassles. My monthly maintenance plan means all the updates and security is managed for them, so no worries about the site being damaged by hackers!
We gave careful consideration to the user experience (UX) and mapped the visitor journey so that everything they might need is easily found, and getting around the site is efficient and enjoyable.
The actual development phase was calm and untroubled. We’ve ended up with a site that is really a high calibre. I’m really proud of this new site, and the client is delighted, going to far as to say:

“Thank you again Nomis, for all your Patience (with a capital P) for all my requests (!!), your ideas, quick responses to emails / calls and your final layout design. I know that you can be easily contacted if there are any hiccups with the site and you will immediately rectify.
I have already recommended you to several other people.”

Claire had more to say!

“Nomis Parfitt Web Design originally designed my website in 2014 so it was time for a change and to make it more up to date, interactive, user-friendly and better SEO results.
Nomis provided me with a very clear quote at the start, stating what was included for the price along with a list of optional extras.
He did a first presentation, using the content from the original website, but changing the layout, using better pictures and easier to navigate.
At this point, he kindly allowed me to have more input as he was working at the same time, so I sourced certain pictures that I was specifically looking for – Nomis was always honest and if the picture was not going to work for the lay out, he would say. No standards were compromised. It also meant that minor changes could be made along the way as opposed to a large amount all at one time!
He came up with some great ideas such as “feature trips” and a “pop up messenger for Facebook” as well as taking on board my ideas too. As we were working during Covid-19 and trying to promote holidays, we carefully chose our wording to encourage individuals, couples and friends/families to travel with us.
Nomis then gave a second presentation, with all the changes – a few minor adjustments to make the website work on laptops and phones and it was ready to re-launch!
Thank you again Nomis, for all your Patience (with a capital P) for all my requests (!!), your ideas, quick responses to emails / calls and your final layout design. I know that you can be easily contacted if there are any hiccups with the site and you will immediately rectify.
